Rathkenny Rovers F.C. Juvenile and Senior soccer teams: RATHKENNY U11s in 2006 secured the Drogheda & District Schoolboys League Shield competition following a 2-0 win over Drogheda Boys. The competition was played on a league basis and the Rathkenny boys maintained a 100% record throughout. However the match against Drogheda Boys was the decider as they were also previously unbeaten. Goals from Jack Gore and Andrew Crosbie were enough to give Rathkenny the win in this their first season playing in the league. The squad were presented with their medals in United Park by Drogheda United players Simon Webb and Dan Connor. Last Friday night they enjoyed a well deserved evening bowling in Funtasia, Bettystown, and afterwards stuffed themselves with Burgers and chips in McDonalds. Well done Boys!
