Information

Kieran of Saigir, was born at Cape Clear, Co. Cork and pre-dated St Patrick. He had travelled to the continent where he was baptised, ordained a priest and bishop, and returned  to his father's land in Ossory, where he lived as a hermit. He attracted disciples and Saigir became a well-known monastery.
