Magdala

A place on the western shore of the Lake of Galilee, about three miles (5 kilometers) north west of Tiberias. Magdala was either the birthplace or home of Mary Magdalene.

Jesus and his followers retreated here after the feeding of the 4000. Matthew 15:29-39. Jesus healed Mary and she became a devoted disciple and, along with other devout women, took care of Him Mark 15: 40-41.  Though many fled, she remained with Him on Calvary John 19: 25 and was among the first to see Him after His resurrection  John 20: 1-18.
