Plans for 2008
 

Our big plan for the year is to raise money to fund two promethean white boards for our school and develop and explore our ICT programme.

To this end we had a display of an interactive white board in late May 2007 in the school for the children and teachers. We were all very excited by what we saw – new and interesting ways to learn at all ages. In January 2008 another demonstration was held in the school at night for all parents to view the boards. Again the response was positive and enthusiastic.

Being progressive, as the school is, the whole community took the plan on board. We are now seeking to raise €12,000 to purchase 2 interactive white boards. This is an ambitious plan for any school especially a small one. So far to raise funds we have had a Ceilí Mór in Rathkenny Hall 13/03/2008, a charity card game and a bag pack in Dunnes Stores and there are more events to come.

Interactive Whiteboards Update!

After a lot of fundraising we reached our target and we got two interactive boards fitted in our classrooms on May 26th 2008. We are all getting used to them and finding them great fun. Pictured below are Stephen and Ben from 6th class with the board in the senior room. Mrs Curtis' board is attracting a lot of attention in the Junior room with everyone waiting for their turn!
