Through her heart, his sorrow sharing,
All his bitter anguish bearing,
Now at length the sword has passed.

Second Station
Jesus carries His cross.

Invocation
V. We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
R. Because by Your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

"Jesus went out, bearing his cross, to the place called the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha".
John 19:17

In taking the cross, Jesus accepted it as the instrument that would end his earthly life. With a courage supported by his infinite love for us all, he embraced that cross so that by his death we might all obtain eternal life.

Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, many minor crosses come to us in our daily lives. We accept the cross of monotony, misunderstanding, rejection, pain, sickness and disappointment. Remind us that, in accepting our daily crosses, we are united with
You in carrying your own.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father

Responsory
V. Have mercy on us, O Lord.
R. Have mercy on us.
