Third Sunday of Easter
Gerry Boyle PP. 046-9054138wounds2

Pope Francis tweeted at Easter:
"Jesus, the Risen Lord, loves us without limits and is there at every moment of our lives. He invites us to overcome barriers, banish prejudices and draw near to those around us every day in order to rediscover the grace of everyday life."    #Pontifex.

I continue to offer Mass with Fr Timothy, on Sundays at 10.30am, which can be watched on the Lobinstown church YouTube channel. I offer Mass each day in the Parochial House, along with the Mass on RTE News Now channel at 10.30am. I include intentions when they arise, and list them below:

Monday         Thomas and Teresa Maguire, Michael and Joseph Maguire
Tuesday         Gerard Kinsella, 2 Ladyrath,    (1st anniversary).
Wednesday    List of the Dead

RIP  Dolly Walsh ( nee Smith)
, Dowth and formerly Rathkenny.

We’re all conscious of how hard the lockdown is on mental health, and on business and careers in the future. Please keep going. It’s great to meet people who have got their vaccinations, which will be our way out of this situation. In spite of the frustration, please try to be patient with yourself and others. We have no indication of when we can return to Mass in the church, but it looks like it will be in mid to late May.

                                              Prayer
Risen Lord Jesus,
you came through closed doors to step into rooms
of fear, agitation, worry and doubts and lack of direction.
You prayed peace on all in those rooms.
Belief in your resurrection tells us that you are beside us and within us.
Remove the cataracts that prevent us from recognising you.
Open our eyes to discern the signs of your presence,
our ears to hear your teachings
and our hearts to experience your personal love for each of us.
Breathe forth your peace upon us. Amen.          Fr Sylvester O Flynn. Irish Catholic

Vocation Sunday
is next weekend. The pandemic has given us an insight into the future of parish life, and the challenge, of the fall in response to vocations, to priesthood and religious life. It poses questions for the leadership of the church, but also for ourselves and our expectations.
Please pray for people to respond to God’s call
and encourage people to think and pray about it.

Lord Jesus Christ, gentle shepherd,
you know each of us intimately.
Through baptism, you call each of us by name
to do something special for you with our lives.
Open our hearts to listen to the Holy Spirit within.
Like Mary, our mother,
May we have the courage to say ‘yes’ to your call.
Amen.
