St Hilary

Information

St. Hilary was born at Poitiers in Gaul (France) sometime around 315 A.D. He was a convert from paganism. St. Hilary was made bishop of Poitiers. He was so strong in his fight against Arianism that the Emperor Constantine exiled him for three years. He used the time to write. St. Hilary wanted to strengthen the Catholic Faith so he wrote many books including his most famous - "De Trinitate" - Concerning the Trinity. He was declared the "the Doctor of the Divinity of Christ" by Pope Pius XI. St. Hilary died in 367.
